1. Friend Request

Friend Request also known as unfriend is a physiological horror film. Laura is a popular student with over 800 friends on fb.

Laura receives a friend request from her classmate Marina Mills. Noticing she has no friends, she accepts and the two begin hanging out, but she is uncomfortable with Marina’s obsessive behavior and sees that her Facebook profile is full of disturbing posts. Marina wants to attend Laura’s birthday dinner but Laura lies and says only she and Tyler are going out. That night, Marina sees pictures of Laura and her friends on Facebook, and angrily confronts her the next day. During their quarrel, Laura accidentally reveals Marina’s bald spot, a result of hair pulling disorder. She then unfriends Marina on Facebook.

The next morning, it is announced that Marina committed suicide. Laura feels responsible but tries to forget about it until Marina uploads a video showing her burning a sketch of Laura before hanging herself. The video is somehow posted on Laura’s own page and she is unable to remove it or delete her account. Marina adds Gustavo as a friend. He is then terrorized by a demonic spirit and has his face smashed by an invisible entity. Isabelle discovers him and is sent to the hospital. A video of Gustavo’s apparent suicide is posted on Laura’s page and once again, she is unable to delete it.

Laura’s friends and family begin to turn against her. Kobe and Laura break into Marina’s dorm room and find an old class photograph from an orphanage. Laura visits the orphanage and discovers Marina’s real last name is Nedifar, and she was tormented by two boys when she was younger. The boys were murdered, with their faces mutilated and swarmed by black wasps, the same way Gustavo died. Her mother had been part of a commune, rumored to be a demonic cult, until someone set it on fire. Her mother, then pregnant, was horribly burned and doctors did a C-section to get Marina out of her burnt body. Kobe does research on black mirrors, which they keep seeing, and learns that they were mostly used by witches.

Isabelle becomes Marina’s next victim. A video of her killing herself is posted on Laura’s page. Olivia is attacked and killed next. Laura and Kobe go in search of the place where Marina committed suicide to destroy the black mirror she died in front of, as that is what she used to become an evil spirit to torment Laura. Kobe, realizing he is the next victim, becomes deranged, and stabs Laura, hoping to kill her and save himself.

She escapes and learns that Marina killed herself in a nearby factory. Tyler finds Laura, but Kobe kills him. Before he can kill Laura, Kobe is killed by the swarm of wasps. Laura sees an apparition of the two mutilated men (the boys that bullied Marina in the orphanage) and yells at Marina, asking what she wants. The spirit of a younger Marina appears and says that she just wanted to be friends. Laura is then lunged at by a demonic Marina.

2. The Descent – Part 2

The group discovers Rebecca’s mutilated body near the entrance, causing Sarah to experience flashbacks of the events in the cave system before her escape. Vaines believes that she was responsible for the other women’s disappearances. While crawling through a tunnel, Sarah suddenly attacks Vaines and Greg before fleeing.

When the team splits up in search of her, Vaines accidentally discharges his pistol after a crawler scares him. As a result, part of the cavern collapses and traps Cath under a pile of rocks, separating her from the rest. They decide to find an alternate way around in order to try to free Cath and arrive in a room full of bones, finding Holly’s damaged video camera among the debris. They watch the recordings and realize the missing women had been attacked by the crawlers. Sarah, hiding nearby, overhears the recording and regains her memories. A panicked Rios starts calling for help, alerting the crawlers to her location. Sarah saves her by covering her mouth, as the crawlers are blind and they hunt by relying on sound. The two of them watch and wait as a crawler kills Dan and drags his body away.

Meanwhile, Cath squeezes her way out and kills a crawler by crushing it under the rocks. She runs into Greg; they escape from another crawler and find Samantha’s body dangling from the ceiling across a chasm. They decide to use her body to swing across the chasm, but are attacked by crawlers again. Greg sacrifices himself to buy time for Cath. Although Cath gets to the other side of the chasm, she attracts a crawler when she breaks down and screams Greg’s name, and is killed.

3. A Quiet Place

Most of Earth’s human population has been annihilated by blind creatures with hypersensitive hearing that attack anything that makes noise. They are covered in armor which protects them from bullets and explosives.

The Abbott family – wife Evelyn, husband Lee, deaf daughter Regan, and sons Marcus and Beau – silently scavenge for supplies in a deserted town. Going barefoot while out in the open, the family communicates in American Sign Language. Four-year-old Beau is drawn to a battery-powered space shuttle toy, but Lee takes it away due to the noise it would make. Regan returns the toy to Beau, who also takes the batteries that his father removed from it. Beau activates the toy when the family is walking home while crossing a bridge, giving away his location to a nearby creature that kills him before Lee can save him.

Over a year later, Regan struggles with guilt over her brother’s death, Evelyn enters the final stages of pregnancy, and Lee fruitlessly tries to make radio contact with the outside world. Lee attempts to upgrade Regan’s cochlear implant with scavenged miniature amplifiers to restore her hearing, but the devices are ineffective. Later, Lee takes Marcus to a nearby river with a large waterfall to teach him how to fish, while Regan abandons her mother to visit Beau’s memorial. Lee explains to Marcus that they are safe from the creatures in the presence of louder and constant sounds, as the sounds mask over their voices and do not attract creatures. Marcus says that Regan blames herself for Beau’s death and needs her father to tell her he still loves her.
